Agent checkout

Agent-ready checkout on Kingpin

An AI agent can be given a card number to spend with. This page says exactly what that does, and does not, do on Kingpin today.

What this means

Some AI agents are now issued a virtual card number and a spending limit by their owner. Nothing about that is special to Kingpin.

  • An agent-issued virtual card number is an ordinary card-not-present transaction. There is no separate payment rail to support.
  • There is no connector to install, no second account, and no setting to switch on.
  • You enter the card number at checkout the way you would enter any other card.

What works today

The honest version of the flow is short, and a person is in it.

  1. 1

An agent finds gear on Kingpin. The Kingpin connector can search listings and read listing details.

  2. 2

The agent hands you a checkout link for what it found.

  3. 3

You open that link and complete the purchase yourself, with whichever card you choose.

What does not work

An agent cannot complete a purchase on Kingpin. That is a deliberate policy, not a missing feature.

  • The Kingpin checkout handoff never creates an order, reserves stock, or takes payment. It returns a link and nothing else.
  • There is no hands-free or headless checkout. A person confirms every purchase on a Kingpin page.
  • Purchase automation stays parked until per-grant spend caps, velocity limits, an audit trail, and a kill switch exist. None of them do yet.

Why we are strict about this

Every Kingpin order moves real money between a buyer and an independent seller. We would rather state plainly what a person still has to do than imply a purchase can happen without one.

Which cards work

Kingpin's checkout code applies no card-network, issuing-bank, or funding-type restriction of its own.

We are still verifying end to end that virtual and agent-issued card numbers clear checkout cleanly. Until that check passes, read this page as a description of how checkout is built rather than a guarantee.

  • Visa, Mastercard, and Amex.
  • Credit, debit, and prepaid cards, including virtual card numbers.
  • Multi-currency listings — you are charged in the listing's own currency.

If a payment does not go through

Your bank can still decline a payment or ask to verify it, and checkout will tell you which happened. Nothing is charged when a checkout does not complete. Email support@kingpinmarket.com if a card you expect to work keeps failing.
